I manage a website dedicated to historic cemeteries so I am interested in finding open-source programs to map gravestones within cemeteries and, in turn, cemeteries within communities. So far I am stuck with flash for a community map and excel charts (gathered from Total Station data)/with an illustrator overlay for gravestone mapping. I would love to figure out how to automate the process given that I’m up to 6000 gravestones and 50 cemeteries. I realize GIS can do this, but I want something more visually pleasing and open-source.

From everyone’s bios it seemed as if we had several highlight qualified individuals to speak about geospatial tools. A session on that topic would be great.

I would very much like to participate in these discussions. I’m beginning to feel like there’s so much to see and so little time, I’ll be interested to see how it all comes together on Saturday morning!
